TYPES OF CHRIST IN THE OLD
TESTAMENT

See how Christ is foreshadowed in the people, places, and
events in the Old Testament.
Berean Bible Church is a non-denominational church located in the beautiful city of Oxford, Ohio, that began on October 5, 2008 by
Dr. Tim Eaton.  Berean Bible Church is a non-denominational Christian church. The name of our church is inspired by the Bereans,
mentioned in the Bible (book of Acts) because of their desire to know Jesus Christ and study God's Word, the Bible.  Berean Bible
Church exists to bring glory to God through lives changed by the gospel of Jesus Christ.

"The brothers immediately sent Paul and Silas away by night to Berea, and when they arrived
they went into the Jewish  synagogue. Now these Jews were more noble than those in
Thessalonica; they received the word with all eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see if
these things were so."
-Acts 17:11

At Berean Bible Church, we use expository teaching, which simply means, that we cover entire books of the Bible, verse by verse.  In
doing so, we obtain a full understanding of what the original author, inspired by God, meant.  We also avoid the temptation to skip
over passages that are challenging or even uncomfortable. You could say that we confront 'the good, the bad, and the ugly' as it
appears in the Bible.  While being thorough in our coverage of the holy scriptures,
we also strive to make them understandable and applicable to everyday life.
Berean Bible Church is a diverse community of believers whose desire is to love and serve the residents of the City of Oxford, Ohio,
its surrounding region and the students of Miami University by sharing our passion about Jesus Christ.  Our Sunday morning and
Wednesday evening gatherings are designed so that people searching for the answer to life's complexities and problems can be
introduced to the God of unconditional love, amazing grace and unfailing mercy.  We are young and old, rich and poor, casual and
formal, traditional and modern.  We invite you to join us in a relaxed atmosphere as we worship God with traditional and
contemporary songs, pray, fellowship with one another, and hear God's Word,
the BIBLE.

MORE QUESTIONS

Does Oxford, Ohio need another church?
A fair question.  Although our city has many churches, it also has over 27,000 residents and certainly not enough worship space for all of
them.  We believe that God is inviting our friends and neighbors into a relationship with Jesus Christ and we want to provide an additional
worship space for our city.  Our desire is to create an environment where people of every age group, racial or ethnic group, income, and
educational level can come together and worship Jesus Christ

Is Berean Bible Church part of another movement or denomination?
No. Berean Bible Church is an independent, non-denominational church. Our current regular attenders come from a variety of Christian
backgrounds.  No matter your background or particular faith tradition, we want you to feel welcome at our gatherings.

Would Berean Bible Church describe itself as part of the emerging church?
Maybe. It depends on your definition of emerging church. To many within the evangelical community, “emerging” is the latest buzz word for
“cool, hip church”. The good news of Jesus Christ has always been countercultural – we’re not sure it’s ever been hip and cool. However, we
are passionate about communicating God’s love and mercy (the good news of Jesus Christ) to emerging generations in our community in a
way that is deep and moving, yet accessible and easy to understand.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Join us as Pastor Tim leads us in an expository (verse by verse) study of
MALACHI during the 10:45am service on Sunday mornings. As always, our
emphasis is on God’s Word
and not man’s ideas.

MALACHI- 'Messenger' from God
Malachi, the last book of the Old Testament, written
in the 4th century BC, precedes 400 years of silence
from God before the arrival of Jesus on the scene.
While this is a message of reproof and correction for
Israel, it also instructs us today. Correction is often
difficult but it is a sign of God’s love for us just as a
parent takes the time in love and patience to correct
their children. Let us learn from this instruction as we
study the entire Word of God to grow into greater
maturity as children of God.
